Those who minister at the altar are there to intercede in prayer for those who respond to the invitation to come to God for salvation, or for a specific need. We want to sincerely “intercede and be specific in prayer” for those who come to the altar. We are genuinely concerned about the need of those who respond to the call, and want each one to feel free to express their need and allow the altar minister to pray with them for an answer and a touch from God, hoping the spirit will guide them to water baptism in the name of Jesus for the remission of their sins or the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God gives the utterance. If a healing touch is needed, we are there to make intercession to God on their behalf, pointing them to the power of God for physical and emotional healing. Sometimes someone may need prayer for strength to deal with the problems that come with everyday life. We, as the altar workers, want to be available whenever there is a need. We welcome you to come to the altar, so that an altar minister may pray with you for help in the time of your need.
