To edify, educate and facilitate the spiritual growth and natural maturity of women.
The purpose of the Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly (CTAFA) is to provide ongoing opportunities for spiritual and emotional growth, to promote healthy family stability and relationships and support community service among women.
As Maya Angelou wrote: “I don’t believe the accident of birth makes people sisters or brothers. It makes them siblings. Gives them mutuality of parentage. Sisterhood and brotherhood is a condition people have to work at.”
I believe, the quote above, speaks to why Christ Temple, so many years ago, established an auxiliary and titled it “Sister’s Auxiliary”. This long-established auxiliary has a wonderful history of being productive, caring, compassionate, empathic gathering of great women, the great women of God, serving God and His people.
Do the sisters fully appreciate the innate gifts, blessings, and endowments each of you have simply because you are daughters of God? It is a mistake for women to think that life begins only with marriage. A woman can and must have an identity and feel useful, valued, and needed whether she is single, married, widowed or divorced. She must feel that she can do something for someone else, which no one else was born can do.
The commitment and dedication of the sisters of Christ Temple has been since the beginning, a marvelous, strengthening ingredient of the Church. Some of your challenges today are somewhat different from those of your forebears, but they are nonetheless real.
As daughters of Zion, you cannot imagine the divine potential within each of you. The secret fortress of women’s inner strength is spirituality. In this the sisters equal and even, at times, surpass men, in faith, morality, and commitment, once they have been truly converted to the gospel, develop trust in the Lord and often the hope in His word. This inner spiritual sense seems to give the sisters certain resilience to cope with sorrow, trouble, and uncertainty.
Sisters please realize the full extent of your influence. All women, young, middle age and senior, enrich the church, the body of Christ and all of humanity. All human life begins with you. Each woman brings her own separate, unique strengths to the family and the Church. Seek and know your true identity in Christ.
An unknown writer wrote “Sisterhood symbolizes all that we wish to accomplish in our lives. They represent the struggles we all face as we grow. Why we cling to them no one can explain, but in the end, we are all stronger for it.”
Encourage each other to enhance the natural, God-given, feminine gifts with which each sister has been so richly blessed with. Sisters’ don’t pass up the opportunity and the benefits of being a part of the fellowship of sisterhood and reap the benefits from gleaming for the varied talents and gifts lying with each of you. It will be such a blessing to connect with other women in the spirit of sisterly love!
